I do not doubt your intelligence or capabilities for deduction, so I am not going to give a speech about who I am, where I came from, my hobbies, and how I would love it if you would pour out your soul to me, though it is now my job to listen if you do in fact feel compelled to do so. If you have, however, somehow managed to miss the memo, I am the male RA, and I am here to assist you residents.
So we are clear:
I am not your mother and will not be baking cookies. If you want cookies, we (apparently) have a cookie-baker amongst us who will see to that for you.
I am not morally opposed to fun, but the 11:00pm-lights-out will be enforced because I am morally opposed to noise after 11.
It will be a lot easier if you cooperate with me and my reasonable expectations because, if I really want to, chances are I can force you to do it anyway. I think it's best if we keep our environment free of unnecessary hostility.
Regarding the decoration of the residence hall, the walls will not be painted with pink or purple, but the red of that one guy's blood might be okay, with Dean von Kyphos's approval.
If there is something you wish to do that may or may not bend the rules, I accept bribes so long as the end justifies the means and I will not suffer ill consequences for whatever becomes of what you wish to do. This is on a case-by-case basis.
